Presentations

Going to be starting my presentation for the end of the month, i haven't yet started but i would like to talk to Jone on what needs to be presented so i dont waste my time in front of the class.

Completion

I had alot of difficulty finishing this assignment, it felt as if there was a lot of stress towards the end of the semester, i was in alot of panic and trying to focus was very difficult for me around the due dates, i tried to finish the assignment in the best of my ability.

I felt though as if i could have done better with my time management, and will continue to improve on that side of me as it is important in projects as such.

Conclusion

To end the bloggs, i have finished my assignment and going to hand it in to Jone and discuss what needs to be completed, before final print off.

By wire

by wire systems are the more indepth part of my research, i do think this is the future of disabilty vehicle technology.

Alot of people are going to be happy with these products.

Future Trends

Working on the end of my assingment, future trends, this part will hopefully be finishing by the end of the week.

Waimon Thant-Cyn

Continuing Research

Today talked with Waimon about disability on and off topic, had a great time with her and she is very encouraged to drive her own disbility vehicle with the help from me later in life.

Dan Harvey

This guy is amazing, became a quadraplegic and learnt how to drive, after his accident he was convinced he would never be independant again, but he can jump in his van and drive whereever he likes when he wants to.

It gives him a better outlook on life, and he continues to fight, he is definately a rolemodel to many people, and a inspiring spirit.

Laws and legalities

Spending acouple of weeks on this topic, i found that there is alot of information based on legality of disability driving, there are many topics such as

1) Licensing
2)Modifications
3)Rules
4)Safety
5)Testing

Costs

Did a little bit about costs and expendature, in terms of how much the aids cost, and how they are implemented into the industry, i talked about the companies of which produce them aswell.

Interium Report

Came to class this Wednedsay and did my Report, i didnt think it was that good, but i covered what i thought i needed to.

Statistics

Did my research based statistics today, i will touch more topic based later, but there is overall disbailtiy figures in transporation.

Project

Researching by wire systems more indepth, it seems that the trends lead to this technology, i will currently research the engineering side more focus on this topic.

I seem to struggle with this assignment in terms of innovation, so my project will be more based on research.

Back from break

Back from break, still working on things, been sick for about 3 weeks with the flu, so i havent done alot.

I want to just keep researching the various types of disability controls.

Gathering online research, and writing some content into the industry project.

Initial Report

I handed my report in based on what i had done, and just had a general chat with my class mates and a discussion with Jone to get back on track.

Research

Currently hunting books at the library and found some good ones based on by wire systems and a book about mobility matters on statistics in New Zealand.

Further Research

Continuing research, going to chat with baysview engineering about disability installments and see what recommendations they can make towards my assignment.




--- UPDATE

The baysview engineering companie was very helpful, they usually engineer flooring to design fit for their customers, however most of the models they work with about 1 out of 10 are very special customers, and are fairly rare.

They also said that most of their equipment is supplied by a manufacturer and they just install and test that it works.

They are only adaptive vehicles, not full electronically actuated, some are acutally more mechanical.

Proposals due

Worked on our proposals, our past classes were just initiating us on our course and what it is that we are expected to do.

Working on proposals

Proposals are about due, just finishing touches are made to make it more of a clearer understanding, based my idea on disability driving aids, an in depth research into the disability industry.
